Jasmina S. Ćirić, PhD, earned her degree in Art History from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Philosophy. Specializing in Byzantine Art and Architecture, her research emphasizes visual perception and the deeper significance of these artistic expressions. She explores the complex interplay between rites of passage, liturgical context, and the use of materials like marble and brick to
convey theological meanings. She explores the connection between rites of passage, liturgical context, and the use of materials such as marble and brick in conveying theological meanings. Dr. Ćirić focuses particularly on the study of sensoneural perception in medieval architecture.
She serves as an Editorial Board Member for the Yearbook of Moving Image Studies at the University of Kiel (Germany) and as a Peer Reviewer for esteemed publications such as Cogent Arts & Humanities (Taylor & Francis AS), The International Journal of Religion and Spirituality in Society, Research: Journal of Historical Researches (University of Novi Sad), Facta Universitatis Series Visual Arts and Music, and Architectural Histories: An open-access Journal of the EAHN.
Dr. Ćirić further demonstrates her dedication to academic dialogue as a member of the Management Committee of the COST ACTION 19131 project. Since 2020, she has been a member of the research group at the University of Copenhagen, Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, as part of the project Imaginary Lab 4 Sensations: Ineffable Archaeologies.
Jasmina S. Ćirić has shared her expertise extensively as a lecturer through the Erasmus+ program at Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Masaryk University in Brno, Charles University in Prague, and Philips University Marburg. From 2011 to 2019, she served as a Research Assistant at the University of Belgrade Institute for Art History. She currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at the
University of Kragujevac Faculty of Philology and Arts (Republic of Serbia), within the scientific field of Historical, Archaeological, and Classical Studies, with a focus on the History of Visual Arts and Architecture, as commonly termed in Western European academic disciplines.
