Aleksandar Spasić

Title: Associate Professor

Aleksandar (Saša) Spasić was born on April 8, 1967, in Belgrade.

He completed elementary school and lower music school “Davorin Jenko” in Belgrade (piano department) with excellent grades, earning the “Stevan Mokranjac” and “Svetozar Marković” diplomas. He began his studies at the “Stanković” Music School in Belgrade in the piano department and later continued exclusively in the Department of Music Theory, which he completed with outstanding success.

Since 1987, he studied conducting at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, graduating in 1996 and earning a master’s degree in 2001.

Between 1991 and 1994, A. Spasić was involved in pedagogy, teaching at the “Stanković” Music School, the Saint Sava Seminary, and the Academy of Arts in Priština. In 1994, he founded the University of Priština Mixed Choir.

In 2006, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor (opera director) for the subject Opera Studio and Acting at the Faculty of Philology and Arts (FILUM) of the University of Kragujevac. During the 2007/08 academic year, he served as a conductor and taught Chamber Orchestra at the same faculty. He also worked part-time as an Assistant Professor, conductor, and head of the Opera Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade during the 2008/09 academic year.

In 2011, A. Spasić was reappointed as an Assistant Professor at FILUM in the narrower artistic field of Direction (Opera Studio and Acting) within the broader artistic area of dramatic and audiovisual arts.

In 2015, he was promoted to Associate Professor at FILUM in the narrower artistic field of Direction (Opera Studio and Acting) within the artistic area of dramatic and audiovisual arts.
